Electronic cigarette

March 8th, 2010

Electronic cigarettes (also known as e cigarette and electric cigarettes)are the newest product on the market. They are designed to look and feel like real cigarettes, even down to emitting artificial smoke however they do not actually contain any tobacco. Users inhale nicotine vapour which looks like smoke without any of the carcinogens found in tobacco smoke which are harmful to the smoker and others around him.

The Electronic cigarette consists of a nicotine cartridge containing liquid nicotine. When a user inhales, a tiny battery powered atomizer turns a small amount of liquid nicotine into vapour. Inhaling nicotine vapour gives the user a nicotine hit in seconds rather than minutes with patches or gum. When the user inhales, a small LED light at the tip of the electronic cigarette glows orange to simulate a real cigarette.

While Electronic cigarettes look, feel and taste much like traditional cigarettes, they function very differently. You see, electronic cigarettes do not actually burn any tobacco, but rather, when you inhale from an e-cigarette, you activate a “flow censor” which releases a water vapor containing nicotine, propylene glycol, and a scent that simulates the flavor of tobacco. All of which simply means that electronic cigarettes allow you to get your nicotine fix while avoiding all of the cancer causing agents found in traditional cigarettes such as tar, glue, hundreds of additives, and hydrocarbons.

In addition to being healthier than traditional cigarettes, and perhaps most importantly of all, is the fact that electronic cigarettes are completely legal. Because Electronic cigarettes do not involve tobacco, you can legally smoke them anywhere that traditional cigarettes are prohibited such as bars, restaurants, the work place, even on airplanes. Furthermore, electronic cigarettes allow you to smoke with no fears of inflicting harm on others due to nasty second hand smoke.

Mesothelioma Cancer - A Deadly One

January 5th, 2010

Mesothelioma cancer is caused by the over exposure to asbestos. This disease is occurs when malignant cells develop the mesothelium which is a kind of lining which covers most of the internal organs of our body. The most common site of this disease is pleura which is the lining of lungs and chest wall. Their occurrences have also been found in peritoneum which is the outer lining of abdominal cavity. Those peoples who have inhaled a lot of asbestos particles are commonly the patients of mesothelioma cancer. Smoking is not at all related to Mesothelioma cancer but it certainly increases the risk of asbestos induced cancer.

Mesothelioma cancer is a rare form of cancer that has been attributed to the exposure to asbestos fibers. Many medical professionals believe that mesothelioma cancer can only be contracted through the inhalation of asbestos into the lungs; practically all cases of mesothelioma cancer have been connected with workers whose jobs have exposed them to abnormally high levels of asbestos.

Some of the symptoms of mesothelioma cancer are
1. Pain and discomfort in the chest wall.
2. Accumulation of fluids in the cavity surrounding the lungs.
3. Breath gets shortened
4. Anemia.
5. Cough associated with wheezing and in some cases-hoarseness.
